Ridgewood
Rallies to Help Volunteer Firefighter Who Needs
Blood
 |
An
emergency blood drive to benefit Brian Gimbert of
Ridgewood, who was severely burned in an accident
at work, was held on Saturday, May 11 at the Graydon
Pool parking lot in Ridgewood. Firefighters, police
officers and others from throughout the area showed
up to lend support to the 24-year-old volunteer
firefighter for Ridgewood and Waldwick. The drive
was a great success, with 147 people registering
and 123 pints of blood collected. The Ridgewood
Fire Department did a fantastic job providing tables,
chairs, power, tents, hot dogs and chili for all
donors and staff. Fire Chief James Bombace is to
be commended for the outstanding job he did coordinating
this drive on such short notice in support of one
of his own. |
