Healthsouth Reporter Kaylyn Chapman (left) recently interviewed employees at Community Blood Services, including Chris Staub, director of hospital services (right), about the importance of donating blood for a "Back to Health" cable TV segment that will run in January to publicize National Volunteer Blood Donor Month. Healthsouth is the nation's largest provider of outpatient surgery and rehabilitative healthcare services, with more than 2000 locations in all 50 states, the United Kingdom, Australia, Puerto Rico and Canada.
Teresa R. Kolvik of Little Ferry was one the winners of Community Blood Services' holiday bear raffle. A platelet donor, Teresa has donated more than 50 times. An apheresis donor and a whole blood donor who've donated blood during the holiday season will each receive one of the two singing teddy bears donated by employee Bea Blauvelt (right) in the 12 days of Christmas holiday raffle. Susan Mysliwiec, director of donor recruitment, will pick the winners on January 4th. Whole blood donor Gerald Greenblatt of Fair Lawn won a singing holiday bear in Community Blood Services' raffle. He's pictured here with employee Bea Blauvelt, who donated two bears for the raffle.
