All Drives Through January 17, 2014 Are Super Community Blood Drives! Now Thru January 2014
Community Blood Services is proud to be part of the Super Community Blood Drive set up by the 2014 New York/New Jersey Super Bowl Host Committee, in partnership with the New Jersey Workplace Blood Donor Coalition.
The campaign is aimed at motivating people to donate blood for patients who need blood transfusions for traumatic injuries, illnesses and surgeries. As part of the campaign, every person who shows up to donate blood at any donor center or mobile blood drive now through January 17, 2014 will receive a red Super Community Blood Drive wristband and the opportunity to win tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII.
The drives are especially important during the holiday season when donations decrease because donors are on vacation and schools are closed, providing fewer blood drive opportunities. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially Type O negative, the universal blood type which can be transfused during an emergency to any patient regardless of their blood type.
The Super Community Blood Drive is expected to include thousands of drives in the run-up to Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium.
You can call 201-251-3703 to schedule your next blood donation or click here to schedule online. You also call 201-389-0409 to help fight the traditional summer blood shortage by hosting a lifesaving blood drive with your place of worship, community organization or workplace.
