Donate Blood

A Constant and Critical Need

Did you know less than 5% of the population donates blood yet 80% will need it at some time in their lives? Or that every 2.5 seconds someone needs blood? It could be a friend, a family member, or maybe even you.

These facts demonstrate why there is a constant need for blood. Blood only has a shelf life of 35 days. It takes 250 blood donations every day, and many volunteer blood donors, to meet the needs of all of the patients in the more than 30 hospitals we serve throughout New Jersey and New York.

In an effort to meet those needs, Community Blood Services offers many donation programs and services, including our automated collection program which targets specific blood products and blood types needed by our hospital patients, and its high school academic blood challenge program, and its elementary school.KidzKare program.

You can donate at one of our convenient locations, or at a school, corporate or community blood drive. You can also organize a drive at your place of business, place of worship, school, or organization, or even on one of our bloodmobiles. Its an opportunity to make a real difference in someones life.

Open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, Community Blood Services has been serving the needs of patients at our community hospitals for more than 50 years. We have collected, tested, processed and distributed more than one million units of lifesaving blood.
