Win
Spring Basket at Community Blood Services

| Donors
who donate blood or platelets during the week of April 1-6 will
be eligible to win a Celebration of Spring gift basket from
Community Blood Services. |
| Included
in the gift basket is a gift certificate for a dinner for two
donated by Caf� Capri on Broadway in Hillsdale. |
| In
order to meet the current needs of the hospitals it serves the
blood center should have a minimum of a one-week supply of blood
at all times but lately it's only had a one- to two-day supply.
This event is designed to encourage donors to donate during
a time when the need is increasing and scheduled donations are
down. |
| Community
Blood Services, located at 970 Linwood Avenue West, provides
blood and blood products to 32 hospitals in Bergen, Essex, Hudson,
Morris and Passaic counties in New Jersey, as well as to hospitals
in New York City and Orange and Rockland counties in New York. |
| The
blood center is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donors also can donate at other
convenient sites in Rutherford, Englewood, Wayne, Pompton Plains
and New York. |
| Whole
blood donors must be 18-75 years old (17 with parent's permission),
and weigh at least 110 pounds. |
| A
not-for-profit organization, Community Blood Services is not
affiliated with the American Red Cross. It is a member of America's
Blood Centers (ABC), a network of non-profit community blood
centers located in 45 states which collects about half of the
U.S. blood supply. |
