Our platelet supply is critically low following the Memorial Day weekend. Platelets are needed every day by patients in our local hospitals undergoing chemotherapy or organ transplants. Thanks to help from valuable platelet donors like you, patients like 4-year-old Delaney (pictured with her mom) have another chance at life.
At just three months old Delaney was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma. She needed numerous weekly platelet transfusions during chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Today, Delaney’s cancer is in remission and her mom Kaitlin is thankful for the many life-giving platelet donors who helped Delaney along the way.
