HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - Community Blood Services and Elks Lodge #2331 are holding a blood and platelet drive on Saturday, May 10 for 5-year-old Jacob Grimes and other patients in need of life-giving blood products.
Jakey, who lives in Mount Arlington and attends the pre-school at Decker Elementary School in Mount Arlington, was only 22 months old when he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in February 2010. After a difficult and heart-wrenching battle, Jake had his last chemotherapy treatment in April 2013. Just a month later the cancer had returned and Jake began a two-year round of chemotherapy causing him to need additional blood and platelet transfusions.
