Breast Cancer Facts:

  • Estimated new cases and deaths from breast cancer in the United States in 2013.
  • New Jersey’s breast cancer incidence rate is the 11th highest in the U.S.
  • New Jersey has the highest breast cancer mortality rate in the U.S. among white females.
  • In 2013, 232,340 women and 2,240 men are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer.
  • In 2013, 39,000 women and 410 men are expected to die from breast cancer.
  • Red cells help fight infection and platelets stop bleeding from cancer treatments.
