Give A Pint, Get a Pound Donors Offered Free Dunkin Donuts Coffee When They Donate

June 22 & 23, 2011

Receive a complimentary bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee when you donate blood or platelets on Wednesday, June 22nd or Thursday, June 23rd at Community Blood Services New Jersey or New York donor centers.

Every 2.5 seconds someone needs bloodit could be a friend, a family member or maybe even you, said Garrett Allen, call center manager.

Allen said all blood types are needed, especially O negative, in order to meet the needs of patients at area hospitals. Platelets are also needed to treat patients diagnosed with cancer or other blood disorders and AB male plasma donors are needed for burn and trauma victims. Currently, blood supplies are low because people are going on vacation and starting their busy summer schedules, he said.

Donors can donate at the Paramus Donor Center, 970 Linwood Avenue West, Paramus, on Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Thursday, 12 noon to 7:30 p.m., or at Lincoln Park, 63 Beaverbrook Road, Suite 304, on Wednesday from 1 to 6:30 p.m.

In New York, donors can donate at the New Windsor Donor Center, 575 Hudson Valley Avenue, from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Click here to make an appointment to donate, or call toll free 866-228-1500. Walk-ins are also welcome but an appointment is needed for a platelet donation, which can only be made at one of the New Jersey centers.

Whole blood donors must be 17-75 years old (16 years old with parental consent) and weigh at least 110 pounds. Donors also receive complimentary health screenings, including non-fasting cholesterol and glucose screenings.

Community Blood Services is a not-for-profit organization which provides blood and blood products for patients in 25 hospitals in New Jersey and New York.
