Janice a bistro, a highly rated Zagat restaurant in Ho-Ho-Kus (NJ), is celebrating World Blood Donor Day by offering a week of fine dining to support Community Blood Services.

This special Awareness Week surrounds World Blood Donor Day on Tuesday, June 14.
Bernie the Blood Drop recently visited Janices to bring awareness to this special event and invited everyone to experience fine dining at its best at Janices during the week of June 12th. You can see a video of Bernies visit with owner John Tinari by clicking here.
We want to do our part to raise awareness of the critical need for volunteer blood donors, and to acknowledge the work Community Blood Services does to support patients in hospitals throughout our community, said John Tinari, co-owner of Janice a bistro with partner, Janice. Our staff will help spread the word about the importance of being a blood donor and the restaurant will donate a portion of every breakfast, lunch and dinner tab to the Foundation.
Community Blood Services serves 25 hospitals in New Jersey and New York, including The Valley Hospital, Hackensack University Medical Center, St. Josephs Hospital, and the Atlantic Healthcare system in New Jersey and Orange Regional Medical Center and St. Lukes hospitals in New York.
There is a chronic shortage of units of whole blood and platelets, requiring the blood center to purchase additional blood products from other states to meet local demand, said Dr. Dennis Todd, president and CEO of Community Blood Services.
Janice a bistro is a fantastic dining experience. We appreciate John and Janice Tinari for supporting the community with this special week of fine dining for a good cause, said Lynne Warshaw, chair of the Community Blood Services Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We encourage everyone to tell their friends, family and colleagues to make reservations for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week of June 12 to June 18.
