Simple Acts of Giving: Life Shared, Life Saved Breakfast

November 16, 2010

MAHWAH, NJ – The Community Blood Services Foundation is hosting its annual Simple Acts of Giving: Life Shared, Life Saved breakfast on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at the Sheraton Crossroads, 1 International Boulevard.

The annual fundraising breakfast will begin promptly at 8 a.m. and conclude at 9 a.m. During the breakfast, attendees will be informed about the organization’s many lifesaving programs and services. Two families who benefitted from the blood center’s lifesaving services will speak about how the center’s generous volunteer donors made a difference in their lives. In addition, the center’s president and CEO, Dr. Dennis Todd, and Foundation Chair Lynne Warshaw will speak about how the center depends upon the generosity of its many volunteer blood, marrow and cord blood donors, as well as its financial contributors.

Attendees at the breakfast also will be entertained by members of the cast of Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera.

Community Blood Services, a not-for-profit organization, saves lives through blood, platelet and umbilical cord blood donations, and recruits lifesaving marrow stem cell donors through its HLA Registry. It provides blood and blood products to more than 30 hospitals in New Jersey and New York, and is home to New Jersey’s only not-for-profit public cord blood bank, the New Jersey Cord Blood Bank (NJCBB).

Funds raised from the breakfast will help support the operations and lifesaving programs at Community Blood Services.

To register, please contact Arleen Kearns at [email protected] or 201-705-1669 by November 11.
