Give a Pint, Get a Pound When You Donate Blood at Community Blood Services

September 27 & 28

Receive a complimentary one pound bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee when you donate blood or platelets on Monday or Tuesday, Sept. 27 or 28, at one of Community Blood Services New Jersey or New York donor centers.

Every 2.5 seconds someone needs bloodit could be a friend, a family member or maybe even you, says Garrett Allen, call center manager.

Allen said all blood types are needed, especially O negative, A negative and B negative, in order to meet the needs of patients at area hospitals, and platelets are needed to treat patients diagnosed with cancer or other blood disorders. Currently, there is less than a days supply of blood on the shelves, he said.

In New Jersey, donors can donate at the Paramus Donor Center, 970 Linwood Avenue West, Paramus, on Monday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. or Tuesday, 12 noon to 7:30 p.m., or at Lincoln Park, 63 Beaverbrook Road, Suite 304, on Tuesday from 1 to 6:30 p.m. They can also donate on Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the bloodmobile parked near the emergency room at Englewood Hospital, 350 Engle Street.

New York donors can donate at the Warwick center, 20 Grand Street near the Mount Alverno Center, on Monday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or at the New Windsor center, 63 Beaverbrook Road, Suite 304, on Tuesday from 1 to 6:30 p.m.
