Position Human Resources Assistant - Part Time
Department Human Resources
Job Description Coordinate, organize, and maintain the hiring and termination processes for all employees, including new hire orientation. Manage employee files, schedule meetings, create reports, and various administrative responsibilities as assigned. Participate in cost-effective recruiting: sourcing, interviewing for non-exempt and exempt positions. Conduct reference checks, background checks and drug screen for all new hires. Act as front-line contact in providing information/interpretation on a variety of HR issues. Assist in communication & implementation of HR initiatives, policies, and programs.

Position Supervisor Evenings
Department Hospital Services
Job Description Supervises the evening shift Component technicians, dispatchers and driver staff. Assists the Technical Manager in developing and maintaining departmental standard operating procedures(SOPs). Prepares and implements departmental staff training and competency review and manages these records, according to SOPs and regulatory requirements. Reviews daily and periodic activities and records to assure compliance with the SOPs. Assists in the development and implementation of corrective actions related to documented errors and incidents. Performs and/or monitors performance of departmental QC and preventive maintenance.
Job Requirements Medical Laboratory Technologist, B.S. required, ASCP preferred.
Minimum two years experience in Blood Banking required, preferably including donor collection and/or components experience.
Experience in writing technical standard operating procedures required.
Must demonstrate strong technical writing and editing skills.
Experience in quality assurance and cGMPs required.
Must be very organized and have strong interpersonal skills.
Must be computer literate and skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must be prepared to occasionally work irregular hours, when required.

Position Dispatcher (Full Time / Part Time, Evenings/Weekends)

Job Description The Phlebotomist is responsible for carrying out assigned activities related to donor eligibility, donor care, and blood collection.
Job Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required.� Previous employment as a phlebotomist or hospital experience or background in a health related field is preferred, e.g., LPN, physician licensed in another country, certified lab technician, EMT, or medical corpsman.� Excellent customer service skills required.

Position Collection Specialist - Full Time

Job Description Perform all steps required to properly collect Cord Blood products at cooperating hospitals in accordance with departmental SOP’s and training of affiliated hospital staff. Perform umbilical venipuncture using standard blood donor set, assist in completion of required paperwork, perform inventory check to insure laboratory supplies are available.
Job Requirements Must have phlebotomy certification and knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to communicate effectively with institutional personnel, medical staff, donors, accrediting and regulatory agents, required. Must be bi-lingual – English/Spanish.

Position Medical Technologist�� -� Part Time (Friday to Monday)
Department Technical Services
Job Description Performs all duties in accordance with the EIA and Laboratory SOPs. Prepares samples, performs laboratory tests and operates equipment in the EIA section of the laboratory. May perform laboratory tests in one or more other areas of the laboratory. Knowledgeable in all systems related to EIA testing including use, maintenance, calibration, repair and problem resolution related to testing and equipment. Performs Quality Control on test kits and equipment including care, cleaning, calibration and maintenance. Keeps accurate records. Quarantines all blood products with positive test results. Reviews all EIA results for accuracy, consistency and completeness and reports any irregularities to the Technical Manager, Processing Lab Supervisor or Lead Tech. Performs and oversees proficiency testing. Performs evaluations of new methods and equipment and makes recommendations to the Technical Manager. Compiles and reports statistical data to the Technical Manager for internal and external use. Enters and retrieves donor data from the Laboratory and Blood Center computer systems.
Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
MT (ASCP) or eligible.
HEW (Certified Laboratory Technologist).

Job Description The Account Manager will be responsible for expanding Community Blood Services' market share within a pre-established territory.� He/she will be accountable for achieving recruitment goals through acquisition and development of new blood donors/donor groups, and expansion of the existing donor base.
